Pure, White and Deadly (1972) by John Yudkin is a groundbreaking book that exposes the dangers of excessive sugar consumption. Decades before modern health debates, Yudkin argued that sugar—not fat—is a primary cause of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and other metabolic disorders. He presents scientific evidence linking sugar to chronic illnesses and critiques the food industry for promoting sugary products. The book challenges dietary misconceptions and urges readers to reconsider their sugar intake for long-term health.
