Solito is a breathtakingly personal and urgent memoir that recounts the poet's harrowing 3,000-mile journey from El Salvador to the United States at just nine years old. Traveling alone to reunite with his parents, Zamora captures the physical exhaustion, constant danger, and profound loneliness of migration through the innocent yet perceptive eyes of a child. However, the story transforms into one of unexpected community as he forms a makeshift family with fellow migrants and a caring coyote. This is more than an immigration story—it's a deeply human portrait of courage, hope, and the search for home, told with a poet's precision and a survivor's heart.

Author Profile
Javier Zamora is a Salvadoran-American poet and activist whose work is deeply rooted in his experiences of migration and identity. A Harvard graduate and recipient of numerous literary fellowships, his debut poetry collection Unaccompanied laid the groundwork for this memoir. He writes with unflinching honesty and lyrical power about the Central American migrant experience.

Perfect For:
Readers of immigrant narratives, memoirs, and social justice literature. Ideal for those moved by works like The Distance Between Us or The Undocumented Americans, and anyone seeking to understand the human stories behind immigration headlines.
